Trinity Rise!

The Lord provided a picture-perfect day for our Trinity Rise Groundbreaking Celebration. Under clear blue skies, over 800 members of the Trinity community (students, faculty, staff, parents, grandparents, alumni, alumni parents, retired teachers, past and present Board members, contractors, partners, vendors, and more) gathered at the site of the planned Upper School Academic Building to celebrate this historic day in the life of our school.

The celebration started with senior, Mary Kate Ayers, singing Sunrise and our cheerleaders leading the crowd in a chant of “Trinity!”  “Rise!” – “Trinity!”  “Rise!” Dr. Bridges read from Psalm 100….

We were inspired by the words of Chairman Emeritus, Chris Evans, “As long as our community trusts God, we can trust God with Trinity.” Gordon Bolin reminded us that “Faith, hope and love are alive and well at Trinity Academy.” Mr. Bolin was a founding Board member of Regent School, which merged with Trinity High School to form Trinity Academy of Raleigh in 1995.  Our final speaker was Matt Young, current Board chairman, who shared two stories from scripture which reminded us that Jesus praised the gifts given, not because of their size but because of the heart and passion behind the gift.

Assembled dignitaries, donning hard hats from our construction partner, IL Long, broke ground amidst a cheering crowd.

Dr. Bridges closed us with the reading of Psalm 148 and the singing of the Doxology. It was a beautiful morning full of praise to our faithful and mighty God.

You can watch the celebration through various videos below and also view pictures from the day using these two links: Fran Dickenson Photography and Community Pictures.

“For the LORD is good,
His steadfast love endures forever,
and His faithfulness to all generations.”
